This machine will always have a special place in our heart. Our first superautomatic, our second Jura, this masterful machine worked like a dog from 2004 until 2026 – an unbelievably long operating life, thanks to that Swiss engineering and 2 refurbishings. The price of a Jura is steep, and if you take care of them, they last long enough to justify it. Our cost per cup (including the 2 refurbs) went down to pennies. When it finally quit this time, we decided not to rebuild it and get a new machine, but only because we have this website, see, and we need to get some content. We’ll be getting another Jura shortly, guaranteed.
If you can find one refurbished, these are true workhorses with customizable timing, grind size and water quantities for pulls. The dial selector is a wonderful feature that lets you dial the variables up or down on the fly without changing your permanent settings. That feature got used A LOT as different users in the house demanded slightly different drinks.
It has an integrated steam milk function for fully automatic milk drinks. This lets you make a macchiato with a single button push. It lets you make an Irish coffee with a single button push (provided you add the liquor in the carafe with the milk). This machine let us service parties of up to 12 people with no trouble. It does need to be emptied after a dozen pulls.
The water container is sizeable and with fine water control lasts longer than many models.
Bur grinder. Integrated milk and fridge carafe.
Highly recommended if you can find one refurbished at our affiliate friend 1st in Coffee, or pick any Jura, really. They are marvelous.
