How we got the name
Someone else used coffeewonk.com for a while (roughly 2007 onward). We’re not them. There may even have been a brick-and-mortar Coffee Wonk shop somewhere — if it’s still pouring, we’d tip our hats and put them high on any café list just for the shared idea.
The domain later came free at normal registration rates — not an auction trophy. We parked it, argued with ourselves about what to build, and in 2026 put it to work as this site: reviews, community tooling, and a place for coffee aficionados to hang out without the snob tax.
What we stand for
- Honesty over hype — say when something’s good, bad, or just fine.
